The orchestra’s archives hold about 900 scores. These include pieces originally composed for plectrum ensembles as well as transcriptions, many by Alberto Bocci, the founding member whose enduring passion in life was the orchestra, which he also conducted for years.
The music dates back to the renaissance (Arcadelt, Galilei), and continues through the baroque (Vivaldi, Händel, Albinoni), classical (Mozart, Beethoven), and romantic periods -- including opera music -- (Verdi, Rossini, Puccini, Dvorak) up to the present (Prokofiev, Stravinski, Prenna, Wolki, Hattori, Takei).
Currently the conductor is Giuseppe Baldesi.
